Making Tax Digital

Common Error: The remote endpoint has indicated that no data can be found

Description:

The error that you may see while setting up your company is the following:

The remote endpoint has indicated that no data can be found

This error usually means that HMRC doesn't hold any information about your company for the current VAT period.

If you have recently signed up for 'Making Tax Digital', your company VAT obligations may not yet be available for us to pull.

Resolution:

As this issue is raised by HMRC, we cannot make changes to your tax obligations.

  • Check that your VAT Registration Number is correct.
  • Check that your Government Gateway account is the correct one if you manage multiple companies.
  • Allow a few more days after setting up your account to allow HMRC to complete your digital transition and attempt the setup again.

If all of the above do not work, please get in touch with the Making Tax Digital team at HMRC, they will be able to check your business tax account to ensure that everything is setup correctly.
